After savouring the aromas of Briare's food market, travel to the hill-top village of Sancerre for a tasting of local wine and visit the home of Faience pottery, Gien. Joan of Arc is known to have passed by the magnificent moated castle of Chateau Sully sur Loire en her way to Reims, and close by is the Michelin-starred Auberge des Templiers where a magnificent dinner awaits. Explore Moret-sur-Loing, sitting at the edge of the forest of Fontainebleau. This enchanting medieval town was the home and inspiration of Alfred Sisley and its church was consecrated by Thomas Beckett.
