This delightful cruise, which runs in reverse on alternate weeks, departs from Auxerre sitting in the shadow of the 13th-century cathedral of St Etienne. Wending her way through a landscape of vine-clad hills, L'Art de Vivre visits Chablis, Mailly la Ville, Lucy sur Yonne and Clamecy.
The town of Chablis has produced wine since around 854, the perfect place for a connoisseur tasting in one of its ancient cellars. Sailing through fertile pastureland, step ashore and travel to the medieval village of Noyers to see its half-timbered houses and take a walk around the Saussois cliffs. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are produced near the picturesque town of Vezelay, which has a magnificent and important cathedral. Perhaps shop in Clamecy before exploring the grand fairytale Chateau de Bazoches.
L'Art de Vivre has a 24-hour bar, sun deck, spa pool, saloon and dining room, and 4 en suite cabins accommodating eight pampered guests. The on-board Tour Guide is on hand to help you make the best of your holiday, and the Master Chef creates delicious local fare, served up with a good selection of local wines. Bicycles are carried on board, so guests can explore at their leisure or follow the tow path.
